Joshua (Josh) Liberman is the Founding Partner of Lumir Ventures, carrying forward a multi-generational legacy of investing in Israel with conviction, long-term vision, and deep-rooted commitment. For decades, he and his family have played a defining role in shaping Israel’s economic landscape—building businesses, fostering cross-border partnerships, and backing exceptional founders who transform industries.
Josh began investing in venture capital in the mid-1990s, developing an instinct for identifying companies with global potential. His portfolio spans some of the most influential technology companies of the last two decades, including early investments in Monday.com and Canva.
For over 20 years, Josh has been deeply embedded in Israel’s investment and business ecosystem, standing by the country’s entrepreneurs and playing an active role in its evolution into a global tech powerhouse. The Liberman family has been a cornerstone of Israeli industry, with past controlling stakes in Paz Oil and First International Bank of Israel (FIBI)—two of the country’s most prominent institutions.
Beyond capital, Josh has built enduring relationships that extend far beyond transactions. He has led numerous missions to Israel, bringing hundreds of business leaders to the country to forge partnerships and experience firsthand the spirit of Israeli innovation. His approach is grounded in long-term commitment, ensuring that Israel’s entrepreneurs and investors have the support and confidence to build lasting, world-changing companies.
Josh is the Chairman of the Josh Liberman Investment Group (JLIG) and previously chaired LJCB Investment Group, its predecessor. He is also the Co-founder and Chairman of CVS Lane Capital Partners, which today manages more than 2 billion AUD in assets.
While Josh’s home base is Melbourne, he is a familiar presence in Tel Aviv, often seen navigating the city on a scooter between meetings—reflecting the same agility and dedication that define his approach to investment and leadership.
